Investigation Underway in Fatal Shooting of Irvington Man in Newark

The Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force of the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is actively investigating the tragic shooting that resulted in the death of 27-year-old Ty’Shad Campbell from Irvington. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 14, at approximately 4:25 a.m., when authorities responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Grove Street in Newark.

Upon arrival at the scene, Newark police discovered Campbell outside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to University Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at 4:42 a.m.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding this heinous act and identifying those responsible. At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
