The Texas Department of Public Safety Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Palmview

The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation following a tragic motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 24-year-old man. The incident occurred on Friday night, north of Palmview, according to a news release.

The crash took place around 10:22 p.m. on La Homa Road, south of West Mile 4 Road, as stated in the news release. Isaiah Angelo Torres, a resident of Mission, was identified as the motorcycle driver who tragically lost his life on Saturday due to injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the news release, a Chevrolet Cruz was traveling northbound on La Homa Road and collided with Torres’ motorcycle while attempting to make an “unsafe” turn. The details regarding the specific nature of the turn were not provided.
Torres was immediately airlifted to DHR Health in Edinburg and underwent surgery. Although initially in critical but stable condition, he sadly succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were also injured in the collision but are expected to survive with non-life-threatening injuries.
