“23-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Molested at Jaiprakash Nagar Metro Station; Aniket Jitendra Meshram Arrested”

Accident – death – Obituary News : Nagpur: A 23-year-old woman has reportedly been subjected to molestation at Jaiprakash Nagar Metro station. The incident took place when the victim was waiting for her train. The local police have registered a case and arrested the alleged perpetrator, identified as Aniket Jitendra Meshram, a resident of Republican Nagar, Indora.

In another incident, a 61-year-old woman fell victim to a chain snatcher in Ajni’s Banerjee Layout. The suspect, riding a motorcycle, snatched the gold chain worth ₹20,000 from the elderly woman while she was out for a walk. The victim, Jyoti Navghare, resides in Sai Apartments, Bhagwan Nagar.

A morning walker, Krishna Johre, aged 52, sustained injuries after being hit by a speeding vehicle between Vitabhatti Chowk and Kanji House Chowk. The incident occurred around 6 am on Friday. The victim, a resident of Kundanlal Gupta Nagar, is currently undergoing treatment at the government medical college and hospital.

In a raid conducted by the crime branch, 12 individuals were apprehended at a gambling den located in Ganga Vihar, Darshan Colony. The arrested individuals have been identified as Harish Parate, Ghanshyam Shahu, Mangesh Jambhulkar, Bharat Nimje, Gaurav Dhakulkar, Vaman Gondane, Ankit Jain, Manoj Nandanwar, Manish Gaur, Amol Shivankar, Mitendra Naidu, and Sachin Goannade. The authorities also seized ₹25,000 in cash and confiscated items worth ₹1.47 lakh, including mobile phones.

In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old man named Prafulla Raut was found hanging from a tree in Sai Sanchit Nagar, Pipla. The incident was reported late at night on Friday. According to the Hudkeshwar police, Raut took his own life due to the struggles he faced in dealing with a debilitating illness. The case is currently being treated as an accidental death.

In related news, a 25-year-old motorcyclist named Vijay Nikam lost his life in a hit-and-run accident near Maheshwari Circle in Matunga, Mumbai. The incident, which occurred on January 11 at 10:15 pm, resulted in Nikam being rushed to Sion Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Furthermore, a man named Jayantibhai Makwana has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl. The Special Pocso judge presiding over the case found Makwana guilty of establishing a physical relationship with the minor after eloping with her. The arrest of Makwana was made by the Amraiwadi police in January 2022. The court has also ordered Makwana to pay a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the victim.
