A Houston woman accused of strangling her girlfriend and dumping her body near Buffalo Bayou faced a judge on Friday afternoon. Shania Turner, 18, had her bond set at $100,000, a fraction of the $500,000 requested by prosecutors.

Tierra Horn, 18, was last seen on January 2nd, and her body was discovered three days later on a hiking trail just yards away from Turner’s downtown apartment. The two had been dating on and off for over a year, according to Horn’s sisters.

“It was very toxic. They used to fight and everything,” said Skinesha Granville, Horn’s sister. Many of the fights centered around accusations of infidelity. Granville claimed that Turner would cheat on her sister while they were living together. She also alleged that Turner was frequently violent towards Horn.

“(She) used to hit on her and beat her, beat her up and stuff, and I just had to break it up,” Granville said.

Horn’s other sister, Rokeisha Calton, revealed that she and her family only found out about the relationship after the fact. “I guess she didn’t know how to approach us about it, or maybe she was scared to tell us,” Calton said.

According to the police, Turner strangled Horn after accusing her of giving her a sexually transmitted disease (STD). However, Calton expressed uncertainty about this motive and said she had no idea why it happened.

Nonetheless, Calton suspected Turner’s involvement in her sister’s disappearance from the beginning and plans to celebrate her arrest. “I hope she doesn’t get to walk outside or step outside the jail any day,” Calton declared.

Granville recounted an argument she had with Turner over dishes, which turned into a threatening situation. “Threatening my life, yelling at me,” Granville recalled.

In light of these incidents, a judge ordered Turner to stay away from four women, including Granville, should she make bail.

The tragic incident has left the Horn family devastated and seeking justice for their lost loved one. They hope that Turner will face the consequences for her alleged actions.
