18-Year-Old Arrested for Homicide on Indianapolis’ Southwest Side

In a recent unfortunate incident, an 18-year-old man has been apprehended by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) for his alleged involvement in a homicide on the southwest side of the city. The incident took place on Friday evening, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Disturbance Reported on Landola Lane

At approximately 5:30 p.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Landola Lane following a distress call regarding a disturbance. Landola Lane, situated in a residential area on the southwest side of Indianapolis, became the setting for this tragic event. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered an adult female inside a residence who appeared to have suffered undisclosed trauma. Emergency medical services were summoned and, sadly, pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

Detention of Person of Interest

During the course of the investigation, officers detained a person of interest who has since been identified as Zakii Dawson. It was revealed that Dawson had a prior connection with the victim, further intensifying the gravity of the situation.
