“Suchana Seth, Bengaluru Start-up CEO, Accused of Killing Her 4-Year-Old Son: Goa Police”

Goa Police revealed on Thursday that the note found with Suchana Seth, the CEO of a Bengaluru start-up who was arrested for allegedly killing her four-year-old son at a hotel in Goa, was written using an eyeliner. The distressing note, discovered in the bag where Seth had kept her son’s body, detailed her anguish over a court order permitting her estranged husband to have visitation rights. Further investigations have revealed Seth’s desire for full custody of her son.

A senior police official confirmed that a crumpled note, written with eyeliner on a tissue paper, was found in Seth’s bag. However, the note was not found in the bag where she had concealed her son’s body after the tragic incident, as clarified by the official.

According to the police, the court had granted visitation rights to Seth’s husband, Venkat Raman, which had deeply upset the accused. Seth was apprehended in Chitradurga district of Karnataka while attempting to flee to Bengaluru in a taxi.

Medical Examination Conducted on the Accused

Meanwhile, the accused woman underwent a routine medical examination supervised by the police on Thursday. Following the completion of the medical examination, she was taken back to the Calangute police station in Goa.

Earlier, Nidhin Valsan, the Superintendent of Police (SP) of North Goa, revealed that the accused woman appeared unhappy with a recent court decision allowing her husband to spend time with their child on Sundays. According to the police official, the accused and her husband have been involved in divorce proceedings since 2022.

Start-up CEO Arrested with Child’s Body

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Bengaluru start-up company, Suchana Seth, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly murdering her minor son at a hotel in Goa, as confirmed by the police. The accused, identified as Suchana Seth, was caught in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district while attempting to escape in a cab with her son’s body concealed in a bag.

“A woman requested the hotel staff to arrange a taxi for Bengaluru. After the checkout, when the hotel staff went to clean the room, they discovered red-colored stains, which they suspected to be blood. The staff immediately informed the police,” said Nidhin Valsan, Superintendent of Police, North Goa. During the inquiry, the woman claimed that she had left her son at a friend’s place in Goa.

Suchana Seth is the CEO of Mindful AI Lab, an artificial intelligence start-up known for its expertise in AI ethics and the prototyping, deployment, and scaling of machine learning systems. She has been recognized as one of the top ‘100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for 2021’ and holds patents in natural language processing. The 39-year-old start-up founder from Bengaluru is currently going through a divorce with her husband, who hails from Kerala. The divorce proceedings are in their final stage, and the couple’s relationship has been strained.
