Authorities in Portland, Oregon, swiftly responded to a distressing incident on Tuesday after receiving a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a man inside a residence. Following a thorough investigation, the police made an arrest the next day.
Victim Identified in Hazelwood Homicide
Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — The Portland Police Bureau has officially identified the victim of the tragic homicide that took place in the Hazelwood neighborhood on Tuesday.

According to the medical examiner’s report, the deceased individual has been identified as Cecil Yahtin, a 32-year-old resident of Portland. The cause of death has been determined as a result of both gunshot and stab wounds. The grieving family has been informed of Cecil’s untimely demise and has shared a photograph with the public, although they have requested privacy during this difficult time.
Through their extensive investigation, detectives have uncovered a familial connection between the victim and the suspect. Both individuals are cousins, with the suspect being identified as 27-year-old Jarrod Leo Yahtin-Cloud. Jarrod was taken into custody on Wednesday morning and has been charged with second-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday when law enforcement swiftly responded to a distress call reporting a stabbing in the vicinity of NE Glisan Street and NE 126th Ave. Upon entering a residence in the area, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Cecil Yahtin. The following day, Jarrod Leo Yahtin-Cloud was apprehended near SE Stark and SE 128th Ave, leading to his subsequent arrest.
