Suspected Pizza Delivery Driver Faces Serious Consequences

OSHKOSH, Wis. – A tragic incident occurred earlier this week in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, when a pedestrian lost their life in a hit-and-run accident. Now, the suspected driver, Mark Radley, has been charged with one count of hit-and-run causing death, a criminal offense that carries severe penalties.

On January 10th, at approximately 6:30 p.m., local authorities received a distressing report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Ohio Street. Dispatch informed the responding officer that the suspect vehicle had fled the scene, leaving the victim gravely injured.

Tragically, the pedestrian, identified as a 38-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. However, through diligent investigative work, law enforcement officers were able to identify Mark Radley as the suspected driver responsible for the hit-and-run incident. Radley was promptly arrested and placed in jail.

It was discovered that Radley, at the time of the crash, was working as a pizza delivery driver. The criminal complaint revealed that security footage captured Radley returning to the pizza restaurant parking lot with significant damage to the front end of his vehicle. He briefly inspected the damage before entering the establishment.

When questioned by officers about the vehicle’s damage, Radley reportedly responded, “Did I hit something?” This response raised further suspicions, and the criminal complaint stated that Radley admitted to believing he had struck something on Ohio Street near W 3rd Avenue / W 4th Avenue. However, he claimed to have no recollection of the exact location or what he had hit, adding that he “just kept going” without knowing the extent of the incident.

If convicted, Radley could face a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison. Hit-and-run accidents causing death are taken very seriously, and the law aims to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

The tragic loss of life in this hit-and-run incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the devastating consequences that can result from reckless actions behind the wheel. Authorities are urging all drivers to remain vigilant, adhere to traffic laws, and prioritize the safety of pedestrians and fellow motorists.

As the legal process unfolds, the Oshkosh community mourns the loss of a valued member, and the victim’s loved ones seek justice to bring closure to this heartbreaking incident.
