T’Quarius Jones has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Justin Harper. The verdict was announced on Thursday, marking the end of a significant trial.

The incident took place at a residence on Cameron Street in Jackson. The Jackson Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and upon arrival, they found Priscilla Reed restraining Jones in the yard. Reed, who is Jones’ mother, informed the officers that her son had shot Harper.

Tragically, Harper’s life could not be saved. He was found on the porch of the residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The autopsy revealed that he had been shot 17 times, highlighting the severity of the crime committed.

Law enforcement swiftly took Jones into custody, and an assault rifle was recovered from the scene. As the investigation unfolded, it became apparent that Jones and Harper were friends, but a heated argument over food had escalated into a fatal confrontation.
