Fresno Woman Found Dead: Mother Seeks Justice for Daughter’s Murder

FRESNO, Calif. – It has been over a year since the lifeless body of a Fresno woman was discovered lying on the side of a road next to a grape vineyard. Now, the grieving mother is pleading for assistance in bringing justice to her daughter. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office made this urgent appeal on Thursday.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to a distress call reporting a woman found near a grape vineyard on south Orange Avenue, located between Manning and Dinuba Avenues in Fresno.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Brittany Monique Degrise. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have determined that her injuries are consistent with a homicide.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Degrise had become estranged from her family and had been living as a transient in Fresno. She was known to frequent the area of Tulare and First Streets.
