Tragic Accident Claims Life of SMK Dato Bendahara Student in Jasin

JASIN: A devastating accident on Friday morning claimed the life of a fourteen-year-old Form Two student from SMK Dato Bendahara in Jasin. The victim, identified as Muhammad Syahmiasyraf Mohd Zaini, tragically lost his life on the spot while riding pillion on a motorcycle en route to school. The incident occurred on Jalan Air Baruk at approximately 7:22 am.

The Jasin OCPD, Deputy Supt Ahmad Jamil Radzi, expressed his condolences and confirmed the unfortunate incident. He revealed that Muhammad Syahmiasyraf Mohd Zaini hailed from Taman Sri Kemendor, situated in the same locality.

Regrettably, another student, Muhammad Nor Zulkifli Norian, a sixteen-year-old Form Four student from the same school, also suffered severe injuries in the accident. He is currently receiving medical treatment at Jasin Hospital.

According to DSP Ahmad Jamil, the tragic accident unfolded when the motorcycle carrying the two students collided with the rear of a lorry. Subsequently, an oncoming car ran over the deceased, resulting in his immediate demise.

The lorry driver, a thirty-one-year-old from Selangor, had just exited a junction when the motorcycle crashed into the back of his vehicle. Meanwhile, a thirty-six-year-old female teacher, who was driving in the opposite direction to reach her school, unfortunately failed to avoid the victim and ran over him.

Fortunately, both the lorry driver and the car driver emerged from the collision unscathed.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a young life. The school and local authorities are offering support to the grieving families during this difficult time. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident and ascertain if any further actions need to be taken.

The local authorities urge all road users to exercise caution, especially during peak hours and near school areas, to prevent such tragic accidents from happening in the future.
