By Express News Service

KOLLAM: In a heartbreaking incident, a 41-year-old man and his two children were discovered lifeless in their residence in Jawahar Nagar, Pattathanam on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Jose Pramod, aged 41, his son Devanarayanan, aged 9, and his daughter Devananda, aged 4. It is suspected that Jose committed suicide after tragically taking the lives of his young children.

According to a police officer, “The incident came to light when Pramod’s father-in-law arrived at the house this morning. Upon finding the door locked from the inside, he immediately alerted the neighbors.”

The police, with the help of neighbors, forcibly opened the door and discovered the three lifeless bodies.

“Pramod’s wife, who is a doctor, was on duty at the time of the incident,” added the police officer.

The Kollam East police have registered a case in connection with this tragic incident. The authorities revealed that the children were found hanging on the handrails of the staircase, while Jose was found hanging from a ceiling fan by his relatives.

Before taking this tragic step, Jose had informed his brother through a message about his intention to commit suicide. It has been learned that Jose was living separately from his wife.

Jose had been struggling with depression for a while, mainly due to the long-standing conflicts with his wife. The children were living with him during this period. Considering the ongoing legal proceedings regarding their divorce, it is speculated that Jose’s emotional turmoil may have driven him to take this extreme step.
