Two Dead and Two Arrested in Poplar Bluff Murder Investigation

A murder investigation in Poplar Bluff has resulted in two fatalities and the arrest of two individuals.

On January 9, at 3:17 p.m., authorities from the Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to a distress call at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. The call reported a gunshot victim in critical condition.

Tragically, the victim, a 34-year-old individual, succumbed to their injuries. Further investigations revealed that a shooting had occurred at a residence located in the 600-block of North Main Street in Poplar Bluff. At the scene, authorities discovered a second victim, a 23-year-old resident of Poplar Bluff, deceased.

Through extensive investigative efforts, including conducting interviews, analyzing evidence, and reviewing area surveillance footage, the police identified two suspects in connection with the crime.

The suspects have been identified as Antonio Whitehorn, 21 years old, and Stormy Ward, 18 years old, both residents of Poplar Bluff. Antonio Whitehorn is facing charges of 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery, while Stormy Ward is facing charges of hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence.

Authorities have indicated that additional arrests are likely as the investigation progresses. Autopsies for both victims are scheduled for Thursday, January 11.
