A similar heart-wrenching incident occurred in Cherokee County, where two 17-year-olds lost their lives and three others were injured in a crash. Tragically, one of the victims had just turned 18 on the day of the accident.

The DeKalb County Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash.

The deceased victims have been identified by family members as Cameron (Cam) Bryce Huff, aged 17, and Gabriel (Gabe) James Gay, aged 12. The surviving victim, who is currently fighting for his life, is Gabe’s 14-year-old brother, Buddha Travis (TJ) Washington Isaac.

On Thursday afternoon, a family member informed FOX 5 Atlanta that TJ had just undergone a second surgery on his skull to relieve pressure. In order to assist the family with funeral and medical expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up.

The Douglas County School System, deeply saddened by this tragedy, released a statement honoring the memory of the two brothers who lost their lives:

Our Crisis Response Team, comprising trained counselors, psychologists, social workers, and administrators, is diligently providing support and reassurance to anyone in need. We stand united in supporting our school community during this difficult time.”

“In this moment of profound sorrow, we must lean on one another for support. The Board of Education and I will continue to keep the family in our prayers. These two students have left an indelible mark on the Douglas County School System, and they will forever be remembered as beacons of light within our school community.”

“Although the loss is unfathomable, one thing is certain: The love, support, and solidarity of the Douglas County School System family know no bounds and will perpetually envelop this grieving family.”
