WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita Police Department has launched an investigation into the death of a woman whose body was discovered on Wednesday morning in the 900 block of E. Mt. Vernon St.

Officers were dispatched to the location around 8:48 a.m. following a well-being check. The Wichita Police Department responded promptly to the call, accompanied by Sedgwick County EMS.

Regrettably, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by the emergency medical personnel at 8:55 a.m. She has been identified as Tracy McFadden, a 48-year-old resident of Wichita.

According to the authorities, Ms. McFadden was found on the porch of a vacant property. The circumstances surrounding her presence at the location remain unclear and are currently under investigation.

To gain further insight into the cause of her untimely demise, her body will be transported to the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
