International Crime Syndicate Allegedly Plots Murder of Sydney Drill Rap Group ONEFOUR

Police have uncovered a sinister murder plot targeting members of the Sydney-based drill rap group, ONEFOUR. According to authorities, the group was allegedly surveilled and followed on social media by an “extremely organized” international crime syndicate operating out of Lebanon.

The State Crime Command detectives announced on Thursday that they had successfully foiled the plot, resulting in the arrest of two individuals in Cartwright and Sadleir, two different locations. These arrests were made possible through the efforts of the State Crime Command’s Organized Crime Squad, in collaboration with the NSW Crime Commission.

Strike Force Tromperie, established by the Organized Crime Squad and NSW Crime Commission in December last year, has been investigating the alleged activities of this Middle East crime syndicate.

In a released footage by NSW Police, one of the arrested men can be seen being escorted into a waiting van, relying on crutches for support during the process.

So far, 28 individuals have been charged with organized crime-related offenses. However, their cases are still pending before the courts.

Detective Superintendent Peter Faux, the commander of the NSW Police Organized Crime Squad, revealed that the police suspect a local crime cell, operating within Australia, had taken on a contract for the murder of four men from the Mt Druitt area. These men have since been identified as members of the high-profile drill music group, ONEFOUR, based in western Sydney.

“We believe that contract was taken on by this crime cell, on behalf of another organized crime network,” Superintendent Faux stated during a press conference.

While two men were arrested in Cartwright and Sadleir during the morning, two other males are expected to be arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the murder plot. Additionally, there is an arrest warrant for a fifth man, believed to be overseas and currently evading capture.

Superintendent Faux emphasized the level of organization involved in the murder plot, stating that the victims were closely surveilled and followed on social media platforms. The motive for the intended murder is still under investigation, with the police leaving no stone unturned in their quest for answers.

In an official statement released on Thursday, NSW Police disclosed that a 26-year-old man was suspected of coordinating an offshoot criminal cell that undertook contract work, including “serious and violent crimes” such as murders and kidnappings. The police allege that this criminal cell was conspiring to murder four high-profile individuals from Sydney’s northwest on behalf of another criminal network.

Furthermore, the police assert that this group had connections to a kidnapping incident in March last year and an attempted kidnapping related to a 722kg cocaine import seized in Ryde.

The 26-year-old man was apprehended at a Cartwright residence at 6:10 am on Thursday, with the assistance of Australian Border Force (ABF) members. He is expected to face charges including conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to kidnap, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, firearm offenses, and large-scale distribution of prohibited drugs. Similarly, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Sadleir, west of Sydney, and is expected to face the same charges.

Search warrants were executed at homes in Riverstone and Ashcroft, and an arrest warrant has been issued for a 22-year-old man believed to be outside the country.
