17-Year-Old Suspect in Reedley Quadruple Homicide Set to Appear in Juvenile Court

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) – The 17-year-old defendant accused of brutally murdering four individuals in Reedley is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing in juvenile court on Thursday.

Living next door to the victims, the teenager has been charged with their murders, although investigators strongly believe that he had assistance in carrying out the heinous acts.

The recent developments reveal the identities of all four victims, shedding light on the tragic events that unfolded in their quiet neighborhood.

It all began on Saturday when Reedley Police responded to reports of a burglary at a residence located on Church Street, near the intersection of Curtis Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an empty safe that had been forcibly opened and made a grim discovery in the backyard – the bodies of two people.

As the investigation continued, detectives unearthed the buried remains of another victim, Darrell Bonds, 61, who was the son of Billy Bonds.

On Tuesday, during the execution of a search warrant at a neighboring property, law enforcement discovered a fourth body.

The 17-year-old neighbor of the Bonds family has been taken into custody and is facing four counts of homicide.

Reedley Police Chief Joe Garza stated, “We know there are other people possibly involved in this. My belief is the 17-year-old didn’t act alone, so we are actively searching for other suspects and individuals who may possess information regarding the events that transpired.”

Both Curtis and Gonzalez have since been released on bond and are scheduled to appear in court later this month.

During the search of the suspects’ residence, investigators discovered items belonging to one of the victims, leading them to consider the possibility of a motive for the brutal murders.
