Accident – death – Obituary News : Man Arrested for Assault and Threats with a Knife in Oxnard, Ventura County
A man named Michael Turner, 29, has been arrested by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly attacking a woman and threatening her with a large knife. The incident took place on December 28 in the Santa Clara River bottom, a wooded area located north of the Central Avenue and Vineyard Avenue intersection in Oxnard.

Deputies responded to reports of a battery in progress and found a 27-year-old woman who had allegedly been battered by Turner, who is also her boyfriend. The victim had visible injuries and Turner had brandished both a large wooden object and a large knife at her, causing her to fear for her safety.
During the incident, Turner also threatened another victim, a 52-year-old woman, who also feared for her safety. Ground units and a helicopter were deployed to search for Turner in the wooded area, but he managed to flee before the authorities arrived.
Unfortunately, due to the dense foliage and difficult terrain, Turner could not be located at that time. However, on January 9, he was eventually found at the Santa Clara River bottom just south of Kennebec Linear Park in Ventura.
Turner has been arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and criminal threats. He is currently being held on bail set at $50,000.
