Oshkosh Police Investigating Hit-and-Run Incident in Wisconsin

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) – The Oshkosh Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic hit-and-run incident that took place on Wednesday evening.

At around 6:30 p.m. on January 10th, law enforcement officers promptly responded to an accident report on Ohio Street in the city of Oshkosh. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered that a vehicle traveling south on Ohio Street towards 3rd Avenue had struck a pedestrian and subsequently fled from the scene.

Regrettably, the victim, a 38-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. However, the Oshkosh Police Department was able to locate the driver and the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run incident shortly after.

In order to gather all pertinent details surrounding this tragic event, the Oshkosh Police Department’s detectives and the Accident Investigation Team are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation. As part of their efforts, Ohio Street, between Witzel and 3rd Avenue, has been temporarily closed. Authorities are urging the public to avoid this area during the ongoing investigation.
