The incident occurred between Wangoo in Thoubal district and Kumbi in Bishnupur district, where gunfire was exchanged.

Local reports reveal that the violence began with six rounds of mortar fire, followed by the use of small firearms. This incident comes on the heels of gunfires between security personnel and militants in Manipur’s border town, Moreh.
