Brevard County Woman Arrested for Fatally Stabbing Mother

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A woman from Brevard County is facing charges after allegedly stabbing her own mother to death. The incident occurred in Barefoot Bay, Florida, and resulted in the tragic death of 69-year-old Cheryl Meurer.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after receiving reports of an injured woman at a residence on Seagull Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Cheryl Meurer deceased inside the home. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, leading investigators to suspect foul play.

After collecting evidence and obtaining witness statements, authorities identified the suspect as 49-year-old Kelly Tinsley, Meurer’s daughter. It is believed that an argument between Tinsley and Meurer escalated into a physical altercation, culminating in the fatal stabbing.

A warrant was issued for Tinsley’s arrest, and she was subsequently taken into custody by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. She is currently being held at the county jail on a bond of $750,000. Tinsley is charged with manslaughter reclassified with the use of a weapon.
