Tragic Discovery: Father-Son Duo and Two Others Found Dead in Manipur
Churachandpur, Manipur – In a heartbreaking turn of events, four individuals, including a father and son, were discovered dead in Manipur’s Churachandpur district. The victims, who had been reported missing since Wednesday, are believed to have been killed by suspected militants, according to local authorities.

The father-son duo, along with two other individuals, had ventured into the hill ranges near Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts to collect firewood. Unfortunately, they never returned, prompting concerns from their families and eventually leading to a missing persons report being filed with the police.
Authorities have identified the deceased as Dara Singh, Ibomcha Singh, Romen Singh, and Anand Singh, all hailing from Akasoi in Bishnupur district. Their lifeless bodies were discovered near Haotak Phailen, a grim discovery that has sent shockwaves through the community.
Insurgent Involvement Suspected
Initial reports suggest that the father-son duo may have been abducted, subjected to torture, and ultimately killed by suspected militants. Police launched an investigation after the missing persons report was filed, eventually trekking through the forest to uncover the tragic fate of the four individuals.

In response to the incident, militants launched fresh attacks on Haotak village in Bishnupur district, using firearms and explosives. The onslaught prompted over 100 women, children, and elderly residents to seek refuge in safer areas. Fortunately, security forces swiftly arrived at the scene, retaliating against the attackers and successfully putting an end to the assault. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
