“Fatal Head-On Collision in Pueblo West: Driver Arrested in Pueblo County”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) played a crucial role in the arrest of three wanted fugitives on Wednesday, Jan. 10, which included the capture of the driver involved in a tragic fatal head-on collision in Pueblo West.

According to PCSO, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) reached out to their Special Investigations Detectives for assistance in locating and apprehending a suspect wanted on warrants from Fremont County. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Justin Morris, is considered a person of interest in an ongoing investigation in Cañon City.

Working in conjunction with CBI agents and Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service, PCSO detectives successfully located and arrested Morris at a residence in the City of Pueblo. He has since been booked into the Fremont County Jail.

In another significant development on the same day, deputies also apprehended the driver responsible for a deadly head-on crash that occurred in Pueblo West in December. PCSO identified the driver as 35-year-old Jordan Dazzio, who was operating a Ford F250 on December 9 near the intersection of West Locoweed Drive and West Carrizo Springs. Dazzio crossed over into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a Chevy Silverado driven by 64-year-old Arthur Reece. Despite efforts to save him, Reece succumbed to his injuries.

Dazzio now faces multiple felony charges, including vehicular homicide (DUI causing death), vehicular homicide (reckless driving), two counts of vehicular assault, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, and driving under the influence. He has been placed in custody at the Pueblo County Jail, with a bond set at $150,000.

Additionally, the PCSO’s Special Investigations Unit successfully apprehended 45-year-old Bandy Nipps, who was wanted on a felony menacing warrant. Nipps was taken into custody while operating a stolen truck near North Nepesta Hills Road in eastern Pueblo County. Following the arrest, Nipps was booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
