Driver Involved in Evendale Crash Passes Away, Hamilton County Coroner Confirms

EVENDALE, Ohio – The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the tragic passing of the driver involved in a single-vehicle crash that occurred in Evendale. Identified as William Hack, a 95-year-old individual, he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, as per the coroner’s sheet.

The incident took place on southbound Interstate 75, near Shepherd Lane, prompting the immediate dispatch of Evendale police after 1 p.m. on the fateful day.

According to a press release issued by the authorities, Hack made an ill-fated attempt to re-enter the highway by utilizing the exit ramp, resulting in a collision with a crash cushion positioned at the start of the ramp.

Subsequently, Hack lost control of his vehicle, ultimately leading to a collision with several other vehicles traveling southbound, as explained by the Evendale police.

Following the accident, emergency responders swiftly transported Hack to the renowned University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the medical facility.

In order to facilitate the necessary investigations and ensure public safety, the southbound section of Interstate 75 had to be closed for nearly three hours. During this time, traffic was redirected to the Shepherd Lane exit ramp. However, the highway has since been reopened, allowing the resumption of regular traffic flow.
