According to DCP (Outer) Jimmy Chiram, immediate action was taken after the accident. The suspect, identified as Kedarnath, a 46-year-old resident of Palwal, was promptly caught, and his vehicle was seized.

The incident occurred when the accused, driving a white car with a registration number from Uttar Pradesh, was approaching from the Nangloi side. The driver, reportedly speeding, suddenly took a turn and collided with Ram Kishan. In an attempt to flee, the accused made a U-turn but was pursued by local residents.

Witnesses at the scene reported hearing a loud noise and discovered the injured policeman with severe injuries to his forearm and legs. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later referred to another medical facility for further treatment.

The police have registered a case against the accused under sections pertaining to rash driving and causing grievous hurt, based on statements provided by witnesses and commuters.
