American Canyon police have successfully apprehended two suspects in connection with a recent burglary at a local restaurant. The swift action of law enforcement officers led to the arrest of the individuals involved, providing a sense of relief to the affected establishment and the community at large.

Quick Response to Glass Break Alarm Call

Upon receiving a glass break alarm call from Wingstop, American Canyon officials promptly dispatched officers from the police department to the scene. This incident occurred on the morning of January 4th, a time when most businesses were just beginning their day. The alarm call raised concerns about potential property damage and theft, necessitating immediate action.

Successful Capture in Fairfield

Shortly after 9 a.m., Fairfield police officers located the suspects and the U-Haul vehicle they were using at a fast food restaurant situated in the 2200 block of Pacific Avenue in Fairfield. The timely intervention of the Fairfield police, in collaboration with American Canyon authorities, ensured the swift apprehension of the perpetrators.

Recovery of Stolen Items

During the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered the stolen safe and other evidence from the burglary inside the U-Haul. Additionally, stolen paychecks from another burglary in Davis were also recovered. Notably, the suspects, identified as 44-year-old Christopher Kelley of Vacaville and 38-year-old John Scharff of Fairfield, had cash from the stolen safe in their possession at the time of their arrest.

Arrest and Charges

Christopher Kelley and John Scharff now face several felony charges, including commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy. Following their capture, both individuals were transported back to Napa County and subsequently booked into jail, ensuring that they will be held accountable for their alleged crimes.
