PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday night as an Accokeek woman lost her life when the vehicle she was travelling in was struck by a BMW.
Multiple-Vehicle Crash on Northbound Branch Avenue
At approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 10th, Maryland state troopers received an urgent call regarding a multiple-vehicle collision at the intersection of northbound Branch Avenue (MD Route 5) and Earnshaw Drive. The preliminary investigation conducted by the state police revealed that a Hyundai, travelling southbound on Branch Avenue, attempted to make a left turn at the intersection when it was unexpectedly struck by a BMW.

Tragic Outcome for Passenger in Hyundai
The passenger in the Hyundai, identified as 34-year-old Nickita Sammy, tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Hyundai, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was promptly transported by ambulance to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for medical treatment. The severity of the driver’s injuries remains unknown at this time.
Uninjured BMW Driver from District Heights
Thankfully, the driver of the BMW, identified as 26-year-old Timothy Brickhouse from District Heights, emerged from the collision unharmed. According to state police, Brickhouse was the sole occupant of the BMW at the time of the crash.
It is crucial for authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the collision and ascertain if any factors, such as speed, impairment, or traffic violations, played a role in this tragic incident.
