Woman Accused of Killing Father-in-Law in Prayagraj
Prayagraj: A 38-year-old woman has been accused of killing her 70-year-old father-in-law at Devkali village in the Pratapgarh district. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon and a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the accused and her three children.

The accused woman, Suman, is the wife of Santosh, the deceased’s son. Vijay Kumar Saroj, the brother of Santosh, lodged the FIR at Kandhai police station under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The FIR alleges that Suman and her children brutally beat the elderly man, causing his death on the way to the hospital.
The deceased, identified as Jagannath Saroj, was a resident of Devkali. According to the police, the incident occurred due to a property dispute between Jagannath and his daughters-in-law, Reena and Suman. The younger daughter-in-law, Suman, allegedly attacked Jagannath with a stick, along with her three children.
After the assault, Suman and her children fled the scene while other family members rushed Jagannath to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead. The body has been sent for post mortem.
This incident highlights the growing number of domestic disputes leading to violence within families. It is crucial for authorities to address such disputes and provide necessary intervention to prevent further harm.
