Senior sales officer killed in road accident in Bengaluru

A 25-year-old senior sales officer with The Hindu lost his life in a tragic road accident on Coles Road in Bengaluru during the early hours of Thursday morning.

The victim, identified as R. Gopi, was on his way to work at around 5:45 a.m. when an SUV collided with his motorcycle and fled the scene. Passers-by immediately rushed Gopi to Bowring hospital, but sadly, the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The grieving mother of the deceased, Savitha Ravi, filed a complaint with the Pulakeshinagar traffic police. With the aid of CCTV camera footage from the vicinity, the police were able to identify and apprehend the accused, 20-year-old Mounesh. Mounesh, who works at a private firm, was charged with causing death due to negligence and reckless driving. It was determined that he was driving recklessly in a rush to pick someone up.

Gopi leaves behind his mother and sister. He had joined The Hindu just a year ago and was about to embark on a new chapter of his life with his upcoming marriage. The entire The Hindu family mourns his untimely demise and held a prayer meeting in his memory.

Delivery personnel tragically killed in scooter accident

A 32-year-old delivery personnel employed by an e-commerce company met with a fatal accident on Kommaghatta main road on Wednesday night.

The victim, identified as Ramamurthy and a resident of Kengeri, was returning home from work around 9:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. According to the Kengeri traffic police, Ramamurthy was traveling at high speed, lost control of his scooter, and suffered severe head injuries after slipping on the road. Bystanders rushed him to a private hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

Elderly man loses life in Yelahanka road accident

A tragic incident unfolded in Yelahanka on Wednesday night when a 60-year-old man was fatally struck by a goods vehicle while crossing the road.

The victim, identified as Siddalinge Gowda and a resident of Jakkur Layout, was killed on the spot due to the impact of the collision. The police have registered a case against the driver of the goods vehicle responsible for the accident.

Scooter rider killed in Devanahalli road collision

In yet another unfortunate incident, a 61-year-old scooter rider named Venkateshappa lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Devanahalli main road on Thursday.

The deceased, a resident of Jala hobli, was riding his scooter when the collision occurred. The Devanahalli traffic police have arrested the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident.
