ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) – A Missouri man is facing a murder charge after investigators allege that he shot an individual 14 times and then made efforts to clean up the scene of the crime. The St. Peters Police Department reported that the shooting incident occurred during Monday afternoon in the 300 block of Willot Square Drive. According to statements from a witness, Pierce and another man, later identified as 23-year-old Dalton Coleman, were present at their residence when Coleman began displaying erratic behavior.

In an attempt to distance himself from Coleman’s unpredictable actions, Pierce sought refuge in a bedroom. However, Coleman allegedly forced his way into the room and attempted to physically assault Pierce. Responding to the threat, Pierce claimed that a struggle for a firearm ensued, eventually resulting in his gaining control of the weapon and firing it 14 times at Coleman.

Authorities conducting the investigation have revealed that an autopsy performed on Coleman’s body indicated approximately 15 gunshot wounds. After the shooting, Pierce admitted to law enforcement officials that he and another individual engaged in efforts to clean up the crime scene.

During a search of the residence, officers made a disturbing discovery. Coleman’s lifeless body was found concealed inside an air mattress, with a garbage bag wrapped around his head. The motive behind the shooting and the subsequent attempt to conceal the crime scene remain unknown at this time.
