The perpetrator has been identified as Scott Paul Locastro, a 50-year-old resident of West Friendship, Maryland. He is facing eight separate charges of sexual solicitation of a minor and two counts of selling obscene material to minors.

According to authorities in Frederick County, the arrest came after a detective from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office conducted online investigations on Wednesday, January 3. Posing as a 13-year-old female child, the undercover detective engaged in communication with Locastro through a cellular messaging application. Throughout the conversation, the detective made it clear that they were conversing with a minor, but Locastro persisted in engaging in explicit sexual discussions.

Investigators revealed that Locastro expressed his intention to travel from West Friendship to Frederick County with the purpose of engaging in various sexual acts. Based on this information, a meeting was arranged at a pre-determined location in Frederick County, where detectives swiftly apprehended Locastro without any resistance. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, January 9, and subsequently transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for booking.

Our primary objective is to remove as many of these dangerous individuals from the streets of Frederick County and provide utmost protection to our youth.”
