Tragic Incident in Noida: Woman with Depression Jumps to Death with Infant Daughter from High-Rise
Noida, Greater Noida West – In a shocking incident that unfolded on Tuesday night, a 33-year-old woman suffering from clinical depression took her own life by jumping from the 16th floor of a high-rise society. Heartbreakingly, she held her 6-month-old daughter in her arms during the fatal fall. The incident occurred in La Residentia society, where the woman was residing at her maternal house.
The victim’s family informed the police that she had been diagnosed with clinical depression and was under the care of a psychiatrist. Despite receiving medical treatment for her condition, her mental health did not show significant improvement.
Investigation Begins as Family Statements Recorded
Authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the tragic incident. Statements from the woman’s family members are currently being recorded to shed light on the circumstances leading up to the unfortunate event. The bodies of the woman and her daughter have been sent for a post-mortem examination to gather further evidence.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sarika. According to her brother, she had been battling depression for an extended period. The family had made efforts to seek medical help for her, but unfortunately, her condition did not see much progress. Additional Commissioner Hriday Verma stated that the police are actively investigating the case and will take appropriate action based on the findings.
It has been revealed that Sarika’s husband resides abroad due to work commitments. He has been informed about the devastating incident. Arvind Kumar, the SHO of Bisrakh, mentioned that upon receiving the information on Tuesday night, the police promptly arrived at the scene. The woman and her daughter were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead by the doctors.
Furthermore, it was reported that Sarika had recently moved in with her mother. Just the day before the incident, they celebrated her son’s fourth birthday, which was attended by her in-laws as well. The police have registered a case of murder in connection with the incident. However, if any new facts emerge during the investigation, the charges may be modified accordingly.
