Startling Discovery Made by Real Estate Agent

MINNEAPOLIS — A shocking incident unfolded on Sunday when a body was discovered inside a garbage bin within the garage of a vacant property in north Minneapolis. The gruesome find was made by a diligent real estate agent who was preparing for an open house. Remarkably, he believes he narrowly escaped encountering the perpetrator.

Victim Identified as Reid Charles Johnson

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Reid Charles Johnson. Although no arrests have been made in connection with his shooting death, the individual who stumbled upon the body has provided the police with valuable leads to aid their investigation.

Realtor Discovers Unfamiliar Vehicle

The vacant property, located on 30th Avenue North in Minneapolis, was scheduled to host two open houses over the weekend. Realtor Josh meticulously ensured that all preparations were in order.

“As I opened the garage door, I noticed an unfamiliar vehicle parked inside,” he recounted. “Realizing it didn’t belong there, I promptly took a photograph and contacted the Minneapolis Police to have it removed.”

A Startling Revelation

An officer arrived and proceeded to check the license plates of the Jeep found within the detached garage. Surprisingly, it had not been reported stolen. The back of the vehicle appeared to be filled with tarps and a garbage can. However, neither Josh nor the officer were aware that a body was concealed inside.

“I had no idea. It simply looked like a heap of construction debris in the back of the vehicle,” Josh stated.

A Gruesome Discovery

The following day, while making preparations for the second open house, Josh noticed that the vehicle had vanished. However, the tarp-wrapped garbage can remained.

“The homeowner asked for my assistance to lift the garbage can. It was incredibly heavy. As we tipped it up, I removed the tarp, and that’s when we made the shocking discovery,” Josh explained. “I was absolutely stunned. I looked at Bill and said, ‘There’s a body in here. There is a body in here.’ He took a glance and his expression mirrored mine. That’s when we immediately contacted the police.”

Victim Identified as Reid Charles Johnson

The victim, Reid Charles Johnson, a lifelong Minnesota resident, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

“He was murdered, wrapped in a tarp, and callously discarded at a random house,” Josh expressed with deep sadness.

A Tragic Loss

Despite Johnson’s extensive criminal history, Josh, who possesses experience as a social worker and drug and alcohol counselor, firmly believes that nobody deserves to meet such a horrific fate.

“No matter how deep a hole someone digs in their life, there is always a chance for redemption. Tragedies like this shouldn’t occur. I can’t help but think of the grieving family and the immense sorrow they must be experiencing. It’s truly heart-wrenching,” Josh lamented.

Investigation Aided by Available Evidence

In addition to possessing photographs and the license plate number of the suspect vehicle, the police have an advantage since a church adjacent to the property has surveillance cameras. Authorities are hopeful that the combination of these pieces of evidence will lead them to the perpetrator.
