Prior to this announcement, Jackson was already in custody for an unrelated assault charge. However, the police have now connected him to the murder of 36-year-old Marvin Spence, who was found dead on the sidewalk behind his silver Dodge Charger on the morning of September 26. Spence was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the discovery of Spence’s body, the homicide unit took over the investigation due to the position and possible trauma to the victim’s body. The medical examiner determined that Spence’s cause of death was homicide by strangulation.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
