According to reports, officers were initially called to the scene in the 700 block of West U.S. Highway 50 at around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered evidence of gunshots being fired and were informed by witnesses that a vehicle had fled the area. Shortly after, the police received a distress call from a person who claimed to have been in a car that came under fire in the same vicinity.

The caller informed the police that both AaLiyah Chacon and an unidentified man had sustained gunshot wounds. Both victims were swiftly transported to the hospital, but sadly, Chacon did not survive.

Later in the day, at approximately 3:12 p.m., officers responded to another shooting incident reported in the 1200 block of Catalpa Street. They discovered a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Concurrently, the police were informed that a second victim, identified as Michael Edward Rivas, had been dropped off at a local hospital. Despite medical personnel’s efforts, Rivas succumbed to his injuries.
