In a statement provided by Sheriff Brett Mason, it was revealed that emergency services responded to a 911 call reporting a traffic accident on Tetonka Lake Road at approximately 5:30 PM. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered a vehicle that had veered off the road, traversed the ditch, and collided with a large tree.
Tragically, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 57-year-old Elvin Leigh Wehking of rural Janesville, did not survive the crash. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel to save his life, Wehking was pronounced dead at the scene.
