NEW DELHI: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 32-year-old woman and her two-year-old son lost their lives when they were struck by a speeding motorcycle on Rohtak Road in Punjabi Bagh on Monday. The tragic accident also left a motorcyclist injured. The victims have been identified as Seema and Daksh, while Seema’s other son, aged 12, miraculously survived the accident. The accused, who was responsible for the accident, fled the scene immediately after the incident, leaving behind a trail of devastation.

The incident occurred when the complainant, Prashant Srivastav, was riding home to Nangloi. He was hit by a biker from behind, causing him to lose control and sustain fractures. Srivastav, in his statement, mentioned that the rider appeared to be in an inebriated state and continued his reckless ride, striking pedestrians who were crossing the road in front of him. Srivastav attempted to stop the biker, but the culprit quickly got up and escaped, leaving behind a scene of horror.

According to Srivastav, the woman suffered severe head injuries and bled profusely. The impact of the collision was so strong that her child fell from her grasp and sustained fatal injuries. Passersby rushed to their aid and immediately took them to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, they were declared brought dead upon arrival. The incident was reported to the police through a PCR call at around 6.45 pm.

A senior police official stated, “Upon receiving the call, a team was dispatched to the accident site. They found a motorcycle lying on the side of the road. Additionally, a call was received from the hospital, informing us about three medico-legal certificates, which confirmed the deaths of a woman and her child, as well as the injuries sustained by a man.”
