32-Year-Old Woman Causes Chaos at Jacksonville Jaguars Practice Facility

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 32-year-old woman from Jacksonville, Florida is facing a string of charges after allegedly crashing through the gate and glass doors of the Jacksonville Jaguars practice facility on Monday night. The incident, which caused significant damage and put lives at risk, unfolded in a dramatic sequence of events, involving a police chase and a daring escape attempt.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), the woman, who is a student at the University of North Florida (UNF), has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI), five counts of DUI property damage, aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest without violence, and criminal mischief. The total cost of the damage caused at the Miller Electric Center, where the Jaguars practice, is estimated to be around $25,000.

The Rampage Unfolds

The shocking incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday when the woman allegedly used her SUV to forcefully crash through two iron security gates and two gate arms, gaining unauthorized entry into the restricted parking lot of the Jaguars practice facility.

Witnesses reported that after breaching the perimeter, the woman proceeded to drive up a paved sidewalk, directly targeting the glass doors of the building. In a display of reckless determination, she repeatedly rammed her SUV into the doors before law enforcement officials arrived on the scene.

Police Chase and Escape Attempt

Upon the arrival of the JSO officers, the situation escalated further. In an attempt to prevent the woman from fleeing, an officer parked their cruiser behind her SUV, effectively blocking any potential escape route. The officer then exited the vehicle and drew their weapon, ordering the woman to exit the SUV.

Defiant and seemingly undeterred, the woman reversed her SUV, intentionally ramming into the police cruiser. Two officers narrowly avoided being struck and had to quickly move out of harm’s way. To immobilize the woman’s vehicle, one of the officers re-entered their cruiser and used it to push the SUV further into the shattered glass doors.

Eventually, the woman complied and exited her vehicle with her hands raised. However, her surrender was short-lived as she suddenly attempted to flee the scene. Swiftly responding, an officer tackled her to the ground, successfully apprehending her. Unfortunately, during the apprehension, the officer sustained an injury to his left arm and was subsequently taken to UF Health for medical treatment.

Impaired and Confused

JSO reported that the woman displayed several signs of impairment. Shockingly, she claimed to have no recollection of crashing into the doors and believed she was on her way to a class. It is yet to be determined whether the woman had consumed alcohol, drugs, or a combination of substances prior to the incident.

As of Wednesday, the woman remains in custody, with bail set at $45,000. Her arraignment is scheduled for January 31. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars released a statement expressing relief that none of their staff or security personnel were harmed during the incident. They emphasized their cooperation with the ongoing investigation and refrained from further comment.
