Senior inspector Dadasaheb Chudappa confirmed the arrest and stated, “We also detained the 35-year-old two-wheeler rider who had fled from the spot. Using the footage obtained from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the accident spot, we were able to track him down and arrest him. The CCTV footage provided us with the registration number of the vehicle, leading to his identification.”

The accident occurred on a one-way road from Shaniwar Peth towards Swargate. Heavy vehicles, except for PMPML buses, are prohibited from using this road. Despite the regulations in place, the tragic incident took place, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and adherence to traffic rules.
