Saharanpur (UP) Man killed in Car Accident, Wife and Son Injured

Saharanpur (UP), January 9 (PTI) – Tragedy struck a family from Uttarakhand when a 50-year-old man lost his life in a car accident, while his wife and son sustained injuries. The incident occurred in Jasmour village, Saharanpur, amid dense fog on Monday evening. The family had just finished their visit to the revered temple of Maa Shakambhari Devi.

The Superintendent of Police (Rural), Sagar Jain, informed PTI that the accident took place when the man swerved to save a motorcyclist, leading their car to fall into a ditch. The impact of the accident was severe, resulting in the immediate demise of the man, identified as Mahendra. His wife, Manju (45), and son, Prashant (25), were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Doctors at the hospital declared Mahendra dead upon arrival, while Manju and Prashant continue to receive medical care as they recover from their injuries. However, the grieving family members have refused permission for conducting a postmortem examination of Mahendra, as confirmed by Jain.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by foggy conditions on the road. With limited visibility, drivers must exercise utmost caution to avoid any mishaps.
