Two Individuals Found Dead and Three Others Hospitalized in Chhatarpur Distillery Incident

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh) [India], January 9 (ANI): In a tragic incident, two individuals were discovered deceased while three others were found suffering from an illness in a room situated on the premises of a distillery in Naugaon, Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning and is currently under investigation by the police.

The deceased have been identified as Prakash (36) and Pawan (35), both residents of Bihar. The three individuals who fell ill have been identified as Nitesh (32), Dhirendra (29), and Brajesh (27). All of them were working at the distillery. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police promptly registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Sanghi stated, “A building on the premises of the distillery in Naugaon was used by the workers for sleeping. When the door of the room did not open on Monday morning, it was checked and discovered that two individuals had passed away, while three others were unwell. The ill individuals were immediately referred to the district hospital for medical attention.”

Following the deaths, a case was registered at the Naugaon police station, and a thorough investigation is underway. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has also examined the site, and further actions will be based on the findings from the post mortem and investigation reports, added SP Amit Sanghi.

SP Sanghi further emphasized that the exact cause of death can only be determined after the post mortem report is released. Meanwhile, Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Lakhan Tiwari mentioned, “During a preliminary investigation, it was suggested that the incident might have occurred due to an electric shock. Nonetheless, our team of doctors is conducting a comprehensive examination to ascertain the exact cause.”

This unfortunate incident has left the local authorities and the community in shock. The district hospital and police department are working together to gather all necessary information and ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to determine the cause of this tragedy.
