Bengaluru Police Busts Prostitution Racket Using Mobile Apps

In a secret operation, the Bengaluru City Police have apprehended nine individuals, including a Turkish woman, for orchestrating a prostitution racket through popular messaging app Telegram and other mobile applications.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Bioinyaz Swamy Gowda, a 40-year-old resident of Cooke Town; Akshay J, 32, from Nandini Layout; Govindraj, 34, residing in Parappana Agrahara; Vaishak V Chatloor, 22, from Laggere; Prakash K, 32, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout; Manoj Das, 23, and Pramod Kumar, 31, both hailing from Odisha; and Jithendra Sahoo, 43, from Peenya.

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda revealed that the syndicate operated with the involvement of seven women, including five foreigners. The main accused, Bioinyaz, originally from Turkey, had been living in India for the past 15 years and had been part of the illicit business for at least eight to 10 years.

The investigation into the racket was initiated by the Ulsoor police following a tip-off. Commissioner Dayananda stated, “We received information about this illegal operation being conducted on Telegram, where they operated under the name ‘Bengaluru Dating Club.’ The channel featured photographs of women, which they used to entice prospective customers. One of our informants posed as a customer and struck a deal. We apprehended the gang when they were in a room at the Leela Park hotel in Domlur.”

Investigations revealed that the racket trafficked women from various countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, and others. Bioinyaz, who resides in Cooke Town with her nine-year-old daughter, had managed to remain under the police radar until now.

A police official mentioned that Bioinyaz had widespread connections throughout India, with multiple layers of agents working under her. It is suspected that she has operated in other major cities across the country as well.
