A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Bessemer, Alabama, where a 5-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday morning while receiving a haircut, as reported by local authorities.

The Bessemer Police Department is currently investigating the shooting, which occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on 7th Avenue North in Bessemer.

According to officials, the shooting involved an unidentified man and the young child. Promptly, law enforcement officers and medical services were dispatched to the scene.

WBRC, a local news outlet, has identified the child as Brandon Jamal Nation, III. Tragically, despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
