“Tragic Attack on Family in Rawalpindi: 5 Killed, Including 2 Girls, in Feud-Related Incident”

Accident – Death – Obituary News : Five individuals, including two young girls aged 8 and 12, tragically lost their lives in a targeted attack on a car while en route to a court hearing for a murder case on Chihan Bridge, Chakri Road. This horrifying incident, believed to be fueled by an ongoing feud, has left the community in shock. The assailants managed to flee the scene, leaving behind a trail of devastation and grief.

In another distressing incident of street crime, three armed robbers cunningly disguised themselves as police officers and fatally shot an expatriate who bravely resisted their robbery attempt in Afshan Colony. These two acts of violence have sent shockwaves throughout the city, prompting the police to swiftly respond, collecting evidence and recording eyewitness statements to ensure justice is served.

CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, taking cognizance of the six murders that occurred in these two separate incidents, has directed the SPs of Saddar and Potohar Divisions to take immediate action in apprehending the culprits. These incidents fall within the jurisdictions of the Chontra and Race Course Police Stations.

The victims have been identified as Master Muhammad Atif, Shujah Younas, Muhammad Saqib, Falak Sher, Tabinda, and Anabia. They were all on their way to the court hearing when their rivals, Naheem Sultan and Sher Ali, ambushed their vehicle on Chihan Bridge, mercilessly opening fire. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives on the spot, while three others sustained injuries. The attackers managed to escape, and the injured victims were rushed to DHQ Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital for medical treatment and post-mortem examinations. Unfortunately, two of the injured individuals later succumbed to their wounds, adding to the heart-wrenching loss.

Master Muhammad Atif (46), Shuja Younas (27), Muhammad Saqib (41), Tabinda (12), and Anabia (8) were among the deceased, while Falak Sher (8) was injured in the attack. A police spokesperson has revealed that this attack was motivated by a longstanding grudge, with the court currently hearing a murder case involving the assailants.

To ensure public safety and maintain order, a significant police contingent has been deployed, tirelessly working to apprehend the fleeing suspects responsible for these heinous crimes.

In a separate incident that further compounds the city’s sense of insecurity, three robbers masquerading as law enforcement officers targeted a vehicle on Range Road, resulting in the death of a UK returnee, Tasaraf Mehmood. Tasaraf had recently arrived from the UK and was traveling with his cousin and the cousin’s six-year-old daughter when they were intercepted by the robbers. This heartless gang stole cash, foreign currency, travel documents, and other valuable belongings. Tragically, Tasaraf sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them while being transported to the hospital.

SP Potohar and SHO of PS Race Course, Raja Iftikhar, are leading the investigation into this case, with CCTV footage being meticulously reviewed to identify the perpetrators. As a testament to their commitment, the DC Rawalpindi and SSP Operations visited the victim’s in-laws’ residence, assuring them of swift and decisive police action.

These incidents have ignited a sense of fear and concern within the community, emphasizing the need for enhanced security measures and a collective effort to combat crime. The police force remains resolute in their pursuit of justice and the safety of the citizens they serve..
