A man from New Lenox, Illinois, was arrested on Saturday after allegedly forcing his way into a snowplow and demanding a ride to a gas station to buy cigarettes.

The incident was reported to the New Lenox Police Department by a driver from the New Lenox Public Works, who had been plowing in the area. According to the driver, the man stood in front of the plow, refusing to move.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Robert Lichamer, demanded a ride to a nearby gas station to purchase cigarettes, as stated by the driver.

Eventually, the driver drove to a gas station located at the intersection of Route 6 and Cedar Road and promptly contacted the authorities. Lichamer was apprehended at the scene and subsequently charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle. After being processed, he was released.

Later that day, the police were called to investigate a report of criminal damage to property in the 1200 block of Towncrest Drive. The victim informed the authorities that Lichamer, matching the provided address, had broken a front window at that location. Lichamer was still present at the scene and was subsequently taken into custody. He was processed and later transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

As of Monday, jail records do not indicate Lichamer’s current custody status.
