Investigation underway after body found in freezer at San Diego home

A shocking discovery was made in San Diego in December when the body of Mary Margaret Haxby-Jones, a former nurse anesthetist, was found in a freezer at a residence where she once lived. No arrests have been made thus far, according to Campbell. He also declined to provide details about the current resident of the home, stating that their focus is solely on gathering information to uncover what transpired. Haxby-Jones worked at the Zion Medical Center for nearly two decades, from 1980 to 1999, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues. A spokesperson from Kaiser Permanente expressed their condolences, describing Haxby-Jones as a dedicated healthcare professional who will be greatly missed. While it is believed that Haxby-Jones did not have any blood relatives, a relative by marriage, who chose to remain anonymous due to the ongoing investigation, shared fond memories of her. The relative remembered Haxby-Jones as someone who often wore a smile and enjoyed pampering herself with nail and hair treatments. Additionally, Haxby-Jones and her husband were known for their efforts in rescuing exotic birds.

As the investigation continues, the relative emphasized the need for respect and caution, refraining from making any comments until more information is available. It was also revealed that Haxby-Jones served in the military, as evidenced by a Google Street View image of the home she once lived in, which displayed a car with a sticker reading “U.S. Army Retired.” The relative expressed hope that Haxby-Jones would receive a proper burial fitting of her military service.
