Man Found Dead Inside Submerged Car in Pune’s Bhugaon

In a tragic incident, the lifeless body of a man was discovered in the back seat of a submerged car in Manas Lake near Hotel Sarovar in Pune’s Bhugaon area. The local police have confirmed this distressing news, shedding light on the unfortunate incident that took place on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ramdas Harichandra Pawar, a 40-year-old resident of Ambegaon. His identity was established through an Aadhaar card found in a bag at the scene, providing crucial information to the authorities.

According to the police, alert locals noticed the rear of a white Skoda car (MH 14 CY 0010) floating in Manas Lake at approximately 8:30 am on Monday. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they promptly dialed the helpline number 112, seeking immediate assistance.

Responding swiftly to the distress call, Mulshi Tehsildar Ranjit Bhosale, accompanied by Police Inspector Manoj Yadav from Paud Police Station, Mulshi Disaster Management Committee’s Pramod Balkawde, and Police Naik Siddharth Patil, reached the scene. Together, they successfully recovered the submerged car, which revealed the lifeless body of Ramdas Pawar in the back seat, along with his Aadhaar card providing critical identification.

Following the grim discovery, the Paud police station, under the jurisdiction of Pune rural police, registered an accidental death case. Initiating a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the man’s demise, the police expressed their concerns over the suspicious nature of the death. They have emphasized the importance of waiting for the post-mortem report to shed further light on the incident.
