Man Charged with Capital Murder in death of Pregnant Woman

A man is facing a capital murder charge in the slaying of a woman whose autopsy found she was pregnant when she died, McKinney police said.

Nasib Ahsan, 33, was arrested after Nawreen Tuli was found dead on Christmas, police said. Ahsan was booked into the Collin County jail on December 26, after being out on bond for assaulting a pregnant person on November 28, according to online jail records. It is unclear if he has legal representation at this time.

Officers responded on December 25 to a welfare concern call at an apartment in the 5200 block of Collin McKinney Parkway, near Lake Forest Drive.

A relative had contacted authorities, expressing their inability to reach Tuli and mentioning a history of domestic violence at the apartment, as per police reports.

Tragic Discovery Made by Officers

When officers arrived at the scene, Ahsan informed them that Tuli was sleeping inside the apartment. Police conducted a thorough search of the premises and discovered Tuli’s lifeless body on a bed.

An autopsy later confirmed that Tuli was pregnant. The police have chosen not to release any additional information regarding the cause of death or Ahsan’s connection to the crime, citing an ongoing investigation.

Suspect Remains in Custody

Ahsan is currently being held at the Collin County jail, with the bail for the capital murder charge set at $1 million, according to records.
