John Bartrom, Founder of Jericho Home Improvements, LLC, Identified as Victim

The victim of a tragic shooting that occurred just after midnight on Sunday has been identified as John Bartrom, a well-known local entrepreneur and the owner of Jericho Home Improvements, LLC, a prominent Kansas City-based home remodeling company.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, Bartrom, 46, was found shot in a business parking lot on Prospect Avenue. Police officers responded to a medical call in the 6200 block of Prospect Avenue, where they discovered Bartrom lying unresponsive in the parking lot.

Officer Alayna Gonzalez, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department, stated that Bartrom initially appeared to be experiencing a medical emergency. Police officers provided immediate aid until emergency medical services arrived on the scene.

Transported to a local hospital, medical professionals later determined that Bartrom had sustained a gunshot wound. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Bartrom’s untimely death marks the second homicide in Kansas City this year, according to data maintained by The Star.

The grieving family of John Bartrom confirmed his passing to The Star on Tuesday, expressing their intention to travel to Kansas City in the coming days to mourn his loss.
