Surrey Mother Appeals for Public’s Help in Solving Daughter’s Murder

A year and a half after her daughter was tragically killed, a mother from Surrey is making a heartfelt appeal to the public for assistance in solving the murder of her 21-year-old daughter.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has revealed that on July 25, 2022, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) received reports of a woman’s lifeless body found in a parking lot near the intersection of 124 Street and King George Boulevard. The victim was later identified as Aisha Harouya, and her death has been determined to be the result of foul play.

According to IHIT, the last sighting of Harouya was on July 24, 2022, in the vicinity of 100 Avenue and Whalley Boulevard. She was seen alone before her body was discovered.

Despite ongoing investigations, no arrests have been made in connection with Harouya’s tragic death.

In an emotional public appeal on Tuesday, Harouya’s devastated mother, Ashni Ram, expressed her pain and loss. “She will never have the opportunity to attend college, get married, or have children. I will never hear her sweet voice say ‘Mommy’ or ‘I Love You’ again,” Ram shared.

Harouya had a deep passion for animals and her beloved dog, Lexi. Her dream was to pursue a career in makeup and hair as a makeup artist and eventually move to Los Angeles. She also had an unwavering passion for fashion.

In a video released by the homicide team, Ram described how her world came crashing down when she learned about her daughter’s tragic demise. “I was completely shocked. You never think something like this will happen to your child. She was my only daughter. Every day, I wake up hoping it’s just a nightmare and that she’ll walk through the door and say, ‘Mommy, I’m home.’ I miss her voice and everything about her,” Ram tearfully expressed.

The grieving mother is pleading with anyone who may have information regarding Harouya’s death to come forward and contact the investigators. She specifically appeals to individuals who may have seen Harouya or had any interactions with her between July 23rd and July 24th, 2022, urging them to provide any information, no matter how small it may seem.

“We need justice not only for my daughter but also to put an end to violence against women. Our family needs closure and peace. Any information, regardless of its significance, could make a difference,” Ram implored.
